Delhi Police busted a casino operating in Delhi's Radisson Blu Hotel

Delhi Police got into the act swiftly as they received information that a casino was allegedly functioning out of Radisson Blu Hotel in southwest Delhi's Mahipalpur. 14 people, including five women, were immediately taken into custody after found gambling using the chips and coins in the room on special tables.

Illegal casinos operating in India is not a new thing and there were many reports that many casinos are operating out of Farm Houses, Hotels, and private villas. However, when Delhi Police got the information, Deputy commissioner of police (South West district) Ingit Pratap Singh led the troupe to arrest the gamblers.

"An informer tipped us off about an illegal casino functioning out of Radisson Blu Hotel. The special staff personnel conducted a raid at rooms number 101 and 103 of the hotel on Saturday night," the deputy commissioner said.

"During the raid, 14 people, including five women, were found gambling using the chips and coins in the room on special tables. They were taken into custody," Singh said. The chips, cops said, were used as transaction currency during the card play and actual cash payment was done the next day.

Singh further stated that cops received information that gambling rings setting their eyes on hotels and farmhouses in and around Delhi with most casinos in Mumbai, Goa, and Nepal being shut due to the lockdown.

Of the 14 people arrested, all the men are from Delhi-NCR while four women are from Nepal and one from Punjab. The organizers are identified as Amit Miglani and Amit Arora with police seizing Rs 1.1 lakh in cash, 30 sets of cards, and 6,100 chips worth Rs 30.5 lakh.
